CANTON, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's track and field team had a strong performance at the Saints Ice Breaker Open on Saturday hosted by St. Lawrence.
The 4x100-meter relay of senior
Luke Roderka (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport), freshman
Connor O'Neil (Dover Plains, N.Y. / Dover Union), freshman
Michael Meddings (Massena, N.Y. / Massena Central) and senior
Brian Fabian (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport) won with a time of 44.78 seconds.
The 4x800 meter relay of Fabian, freshman
Tyler Martin (Saranac Lake, N.Y. / Saranac Lake), sophomore
Luke Groves (Slingerlands, N.Y. / Guilderland) and sophomore
Andrew Horan (Albany, N.Y. / Guilderland) won with a time of 8:11.20.
Junior
Anthony Ciccarelli (Smithtown, N.Y. / Commack) won the javelin with a SUNYAC mark of 159' 2" which currently leads the conference.
Freshman
Vincent Perna (Commack, N.Y. / Commack) won the long jump with a SUNYAC mark of 20' 3.75".
Freshman
James Faraci (Troy, N.Y. / Troy) won the 10,000-meters with a time of 36:00.63.
Fabian was second in the 200-meters with a SUNYAC time of 22.88 seconds.
Freshman
Jacob Leaper (Scotia Glenville, N.Y. / Scotia Glenville) finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.81 and took third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.05 seconds.
O'Neil placed second in the 100-meters with a SUNYAC time of 11.61 seconds and was third in the 200-meters with a SUNYAC time of 23.09 seconds.
Sophomore
Brendon Van Vlack (Duanesburg, N.Y. / Duanesburgh) took second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a SUNYAC time of 10:10.25.
Horan finished second in the 800-meters with a SUNYAC time of 1:57.95.
Groves was third in the 800-meters with a SUNYAC time of 1:59.03.
Junior
Kade Lampman (Ballston Lake, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) took third in the hammer with a mark of 141' 3".
The Cardinals will head to Southern New Hampshire Saturday, April 13.
