MEET RESULTS
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's 4x100 meter relay, junior
Marissa Jones (Sauquoit, N.Y. / Sauquoit Valley) and freshman
Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill) broke program records at the Cortland Classic on Saturday.
The 4x100 relay of junior
Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown), Jones, sophomore
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central) and Whimple won the event with a regional and new school record time of 49.35 seconds.
The old 4x100-meter record was 49.46 seconds set May, 5 2018 by Plympton,
Jones, Barber and Ashlee Estes.
Jones won the 400-meters and set the school record with a regional time of 56.64 seconds, which is currently the sixth fastest time in NCAA Division III.
The old 400-meter record was 56.67 seconds set May 26, 2006 by Samantha Paul.
Whimple won the triple jump and set the school record with a regional mark of 39' 4", which is the second farthest jump in NCAA Division III.
The old triple jump record was 38' 3.25" set in 1991 by Heather Myrick.
Whimple also placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a SUNYAC time of 16.03 seconds.
Barber won the 400-meter hurdles with a regional mark of 1:05.59.
Junior
Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) won the shot put with a regional mark of 41' 8 3/4".
Plympton finished third in the 400-meters with a regional time of 58.66 seconds.
Junior
Taylor Canet (Peru, N.Y. / Peru) placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a regional time of 1:07.43.
Freshman
Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) finished fifth in the heptathlon with a regional mark of 3672 points.
She ran 15.99 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, 28.10 seconds in the 200-meters, 2:38.77 in the 800-meters, jumped 4' 11½" in high jump, 16' 6" in long jump, threw 25' 0¾" in shot put and 44' 10" in javelin.
The 4x100 meter relay of sophomore
Desirae Blair (Queens, N.Y. / Bayside), freshman
Isabel Dashnaw (Canton, N.Y. / Hugh C. Williams), freshman
Ava Cristiano (Loudonville, N.Y. / Emma Willard School) and Canet took third with a time of 52.91.
The Cardinals will travel to RPI on Saturday, April 27.
