CORTLAND, N.Y. – Sophomore
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central) placed second in the long jump, sophomore
Desirae Blair (Queens, N.Y. / Bayside) finished third in the javelin while junior
Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) and freshman
Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill) both qualified for the finals in their events at the Cortland Classic on Friday.
Barber jumped 17' 5.5" to place second out of 23. Her mark puts her third in the SUNYAC.
Blair threw 112' 10"to finish third out of 40.
Plympton sits in third in the 100-meters with a regional time of 12.62, which qualified her for the final round on Saturday.
Whimple sits in third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.09, which qualified her for the finals on Saturday.
Freshman
Rebecca Block (Lake Grove, N.Y. / Sachem North) finished fifth in steeplechase with a time of 12:28.71.
Freshman
Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) sits in fifth for the heptathlon with 2346 points after running 15.99 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, 28.10 seconds in the 200-meters, jumping 4' 11½" in high jump and throwing 25' 0¾" in shot put.
The Cardinals will wrap up the Cortland Classic on Saturday.
