MEET RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – Freshman
Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill) of the Plattsburgh State women's track and field team won the triple jump and broke her own program record on Friday at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field (AARTFC) Championships hosted by Ithaca College in Glazer Arena.
Whimple jumped 39' 5 ¾" which breaks her old record of 37' 11.5" she set back on Jan. 25, 2019.
Her jump is the third farthest mark in NCAA Division III currently.
Junior
Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) finished fifth in shot put with a throw of 40' .5".
Freshman
Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) placed sixth overall in the pentathlon with a score of 2965.
She ran a 9.66 in the 60-meter hurdles, 2:37.30 in the 800, jumped 5' 0¼" in high jump, 16' 4¼"in long jump and threw 25' 0½" in shot put.
The 4x400 meter relay team of junior
Taylor Canet (Peru, N.Y. / Peru), sophomore
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central), Boerke and junior
Marissa Jones (Sauquoit, N.Y. / Sauquoit Valley) took fifth with a time of 4:02.88.
The distance medley relay of include sophomore
Jackie Corbett (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush), Canet, freshman
Aislyn McDonough (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Northeastern Clinton) and junior
Kristina Watrobski (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) finished seventh with a season best 12:35.46.
Junior
Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) sits in second in the 60-meter dash after running a 7.88 to qualify for the finals on Saturday.
The Cardinals currently sit in fourth of 21 teams that have competed in day one of the AARTFC Championships.
Day two will start on Saturday at 10 a.m.
