MEET RESULTS
BOSTON, Mass.- Junior
Marissa Jones (Sauquoit, N.Y. / Sauquoit Valley) of the No. 30 Plattsburgh State women's track and field team broke the school record in the indoor 400-meters and the 4x400 meter relay qualified for regionals at the respected Valentine Classic hosted by Boston University on Friday.
Jones finished 38th overall crossing the finish line in a time of 57.44 seconds to break the old program record of 57.58 set by Sam Paul back in 2007.
Her time places her in the Top-5 of all NCAA Division III.
Sophomore
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central) ran a personal best in the 400-meters with a time of 58.8 seconds to place 78th of 172 runners.
Freshman
Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill) finished ninth of 30 athletes in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.74 seconds.
Freshman
Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) ran the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.84 seconds to finish 14th.
Junior
Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) ran a season best in the 200-meters with a time of 25.86 to place 63rd of 211 and ran the 60-meters in a time of 7.90 seconds to finish 20th of 25.
Junior
Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) finished 15th of 39 in weight throw with a mark of 46' 5.5" and was 18th of 41 shot putters with a mark of 37' 3.25".
The 4x400 meter team of Whimple, Barber, Boerke and Jones ran an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) time of 4:00.92 which places them in the Top-30 of all NCAA DIII.
