MEET RESULTS
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Junior
Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) broke the Plattsburgh State women's track and field program record for shot put and the team finished third at the 2019 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships on Saturday at Houghton at College's Kerr-Pegula Field House.
Coon recorded a mark of 12.69 meters (41' 7 ¾") to win the event and break the old record of 12.67 (41' 7") set by Shannon Young at the ECAC Championships in March, 2010.
Junior
Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) won the 60-meter dash in a regional time of 7.85 seconds and also took first in the 200-meters with a regional time of 25.65 seconds.
Junior
Marissa Jones (Sauquoit, N.Y. / Sauquoit Valley) won the 400-meter with a time of 58.76 while sophomore
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central) finished fifth with a time of 59.67, both regional times.
Jones took third in the 200-meters with a regional time of 26.22 and Barber placed eighth in a time of 27.01.
Junior
Kristina Watrobski (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) placed second in the mile with a regional time of 5:14.55 while sophomore
Jackie Corbett (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush) finished seventh in the mile with a time of 5:27.79.
After finishing second in the pentathlon yesterday, freshman
Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) took fourth in high jump with a height of 5' 1 ¾".
The women's 4x400 meter relay of junior
Taylor Canet (Peru, N.Y. / Peru), freshman
Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill), Barber and Jones finished fourth with a regional time of 4:06.04.
The Cardinals will head to the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field (AARTFC) championships next weekend.
