MEET RESULTS
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team sits in third place after day one at the 2019 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships on Friday at Houghton at College's Kerr-Pegula Field House.
The distance medley relay of sophomore
Jackie Corbett (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush), junior
Taylor Canet (Peru, N.Y. / Peru), freshman
Aislyn McDonough (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Northeastern Clinton) and junior
Kristina Watrobski (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) placed first with a regional qualifying time of 12:41.50, winning by 18.21 seconds.
Junior
Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) qualified for the finals in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash.
Plympton currently sits in first in the 60-meter with a 7.83 and the 200-meters with a 25.75, both regional times.
Junior
Marissa Jones (Sauquoit, N.Y. / Sauquoit Valley) and sophomore
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central) also qualified for the finals in the 200.
Jones sits in third with a time of 26.17 while Barber is in eighth with a time of 26.59 both regional times.
Jones and Barber also qualified for the finals in the 400-meters with Jones sitting in first with a regional time of 59.00 while Barber sits in seventh with a regional time of 59.87.
Freshman
Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill) placed third in triple jump with a mark of 37' 11.5".
Whimple also broke her own program 60-meter hurdles record with a time of 9.60.
Junior
Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) took fourth in weight throw with a mark of 49' 10".
Sophomore
Anika Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y. / Holland Patent) finished seventh in pole vault with a height of 10'.
Freshman
Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) finished second in the pentathlon with a score of 3024. She ran a 9.79 in the 60-meter hurdles, 2:37.49 in the 800, jumped 5' 1" in high jump, 16' 10 ¾" in long jump and threw 25' 10" in shot put.
Sophomore
Mikayla Rossier (Menands, N.Y. / Shaker) was 13th in the pentathlon with a score of 2263. She ran an 11.57 in the 60-meter hurdles, 3:04.22 in the 800, jumped 4' 6" in high jump, 15' 3 ½" in long jump and threw 33' 13 ¼" in shot put.
The Cardinals will wrap up the SUNYAC championship on Saturday.
