Meet Results
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field 4x200 meter relay took first place and broke both the school and meet record on Saturday at the Middlebury Team Challenge.
The Cardinals finished second overall out of six teams.
The relay team of junior
Elisabeth Plympton (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown), junior
Marissa Jones (Sauquoit, N.Y. / Sauquoit Valley), sophomore
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac Central) and freshman
Victoria Whimple (Castleton, N.Y. / Maple Hill) ran a time of 1:44.90 to break the old record of 1:45.68 set back in 2018 set by Plympton, Jones, Barber and
Ashlee Estes.
The 4x200 relay has the fastest time in the region currently.
Plympton went on to win the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.87, which is a new meet record. She also won the 200-meters with a time of 25.97.
Junior
Brianna Coon (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) won both the shot put and weight throw with marks of 38' 6.25" and 47' 8.5" respectively.
Barber won the long jump with a mark of 17' 1.5" and was fourth in triple jump with a mark of 33' 7.5".
Jones took second in the 200-meters with a time of 26.01.
Freshman
Journey Myricks (Cohoes, N.Y. / Shaker) placed third in shot put with mark of 36' 3.25".
Sophomore
Anika Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y. / Holland Patent) tied for third in pole vault with a height of 10'.
Junior
Kristina Watrobski (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) finished third in the mile with a time of 5:15.43.
Whimple was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.75 seconds.
Freshman
Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) took fourth in the high jump with a mark of 4' 9.75".
Sophomore
Desirae Blair (Queens, N.Y. / Bayside) finished fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.38 seconds.
Junior
Hannah Cunningham (Campbell Hall, N.Y. / Washingtonville) placed fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 42' 6.25".
The 4x400-meter team of junior
Taylor Canet (Peru, N.Y. / Peru), freshman
Aislyn McDonough (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Northeastern Clinton) , Boerke and sophomore
Faith Haley (Cadyville, N.Y. / Saranac High School) placed third with a time of 4:21.95.
The Cardinals will compete in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) meet hosted by Houghton on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23.
