Kallie Villemaire (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) of Plattsburgh State has been named the first PrestoSports State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week of 2019-20, earning the honor for the period ending Dec. 8, 2019.
This marks Villemaire's first SUNYAC Athlete of the Week honor.
In her first collegiate track meet, Villemaire set a meet record and participated on a first-place relay, helping Plattsburgh State finish first in the team standings at the Saints Holiday Relays. She finished first in the 500-meter dash with a meet-record time of 1:21.62, and she ran the 400-meter leg on the Cardinals' first-place sprint medley relay (4:45.47). Villemaire then anchored Plattsburgh State's second-place 4x400-meter relay (4:10.00) at the end of the meet, which achieved an AARTFC qualifying time.
Plattsburgh State next competes at the Middlebury Winter Classic hosted by Middlebury College on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m.
