RESULTS
MIDDLEBURY, VT. – The Plattsburgh State men's 4x400 team along with sophomores
Andrew Horan (Albany, N.Y. / Guilderland) and
Luke Groves (Slingerlands, N.Y. / Guilderland) all placed first in their events at the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday.
The Cardinals finished third overall out of five teams with Plymouth State taking the title and Middlebury being runner up.
Horan won the 3000-meters with a SUNYAC qualifying time of 9:15.17 and Groves won the 1000-meters in a time of 2:42.42.
The men's 4x400 team of senior
Brian Fabian (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport), sophomore
Brenden Jung (Greenville, N.Y. / Minisink Valley), freshman
Tyler Martin (Saranac Lake, N.Y. / Saranac Lake) and Groves won the relay in a time of 3:39.23.
Other top three finishers include; Fabian finishing second in the 500-meters in a time of 1:10.03, Jung was third in the 400-meters with a time of 55.52, freshman
Joseph Chianese (Shoreham, N.Y. / Shoreham-Wading River) was third in the 1000-meters in a time of 2:49.81, junior
Alex Hepburn (Corning, N.Y. / Corning-Painted Post) was third in high jump (5' 8") and senior
Luke Roderka (East Northport, N.Y. / Northport) tied for third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.53 seconds.
Other SUNYAC qualifiers include sophomore
John O'Connor (Canajoharie, N.Y. / Canajoharie) in weight throw (44' 5.25") and junior
Kade Lampman (Ballston Lake, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) in shot put (40' 4.25").
The Cardinals are back in action Saturday, Jan. 19, for the Saints Indoor Invitational hosted by Saint Lawrence.
