Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team continues their win streak and move to 4-0 overall after a 1-0 win over RPI on Saturday at East Campus Stadium.
Freshman forward
Kirsten Villemaire (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) recorded her third goal of the season in the 18th minute.
After a Cardinal throw in from the left side, the Engineers headed the ball back that was intercepted by sophomore midfielder
Abigail Seamans (Diamond Point, N.Y. / Bolton Central).Â
Seamans put the ball in front of the RPI defenders for Villemaire to boot up over the keepers reach and into the center back of the net.
Plattsburgh State out shot RPI 8-5 in the first half.
The Engineers picked it up in the second half outshooting the Cardinals 4-2 but graduate goalkeeper
Taylor Adams (Schenectady, N.Y./Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) held her own and kept the net clear to pick up her third clean sheet.
Adams made five saves as did her counterpart.
Villemaire recorded three shots on goal while junior midfielders
Sarah Bonner (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) and
Rachael Moran (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./Arlington) along with freshman midfielder
Erin Metzger (New Paltz, N.Y. / New Paltz) all had one.
The Cardinals are away Wednesday, Sept. 12, for a non-conference game against Middlebury at 4 p.m.Â
