Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team reeled off its second-straight win with a 3-0 victory over RPI Wednesday night at the Plattsburgh State Field House Complex.
After the playing five-straight road games to open the season, the Cardinals got to play their first game in the comforts of their own home and it showed controlling the game against the Engineers from start to finish.
Plattsburgh State got on the board first in the 43
rd minute with a strike
Sarah Haight for her third goal of the season. The East Meredith, N.Y., native collected a pass
Christen Averill before ripping a shot over RPI goalie Tori Riopelle.
The Cardinals would add to their lead 11 minutes into the second half on
Madeline Saccocio's third of the season. Saccocio would dribble the ball onto her left foot beating the RPI defense and Riopelle to make it 2-0.
Anissa Hartmann capped it off with her team-high fourth goal coming in the 87
th minute.
Ashlie Guinness fired a shot on net that was saved by Riopelle but Hartmann was there for the rebound, making it 3-0.

Nichole Gibson earned her third-consecutive clean sheet making two saves in the process.
Engineer's goalie Riopelle finished the night with six saves on nine shots.
Plattsburgh State owned a 15-4 shot advantage and both teams finished with three corner kicks apiece.
With the win Plattsburgh State moves to 3-2-1 on the season as RPI goes to 2-2-2.
The Cardinals will look to make it three in a row when they host Skidmore on Saturday at 1 p.m.
