CLERMONT, Fla. - The Plattsburgh State softball team picked up a big win against Ithaca to open the day before dropping Wednesday's second game to the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

In the first inning, Brittany Marshall got the game going with a lead-off single and scored on a double to center field by Allison Smiddy. An RBI single from Katie McNally later in the inning gave Plattsburgh (4-3) a 2-0 lead.
