PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's soccer team has earned the 2025-26 College Team Academic Award from United Soccer Coaches, recognizing collegiate programs that have excelled academically during the academic year.

The Cardinals posted a 3.18 cumulative team grade point average during the 2025-26 academic year to earn the national distinction. Programs must achieve a minimum team GPA of 3.0 to qualify for the award.

United Soccer Coaches announced Friday that 327 men's soccer programs received the Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year. In total, 779 collegiate soccer teams 327 men's and 452 women's earned the recognition by posting a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The honor reflects the dedication of Plattsburgh State's student-athletes to achieving success in the classroom while competing at the NCAA level. The Cardinals' 3.18 team GPA demonstrates the program's continued emphasis on academic achievement alongside athletic competition.

Plattsburgh State was also among 176 colleges and universities nationwide to have both its men's and women's soccer programs recognized with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, highlighting the success of both Cardinal programs in the classroom.
