PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State Director of Athletics and Recreation Mike Howard has announced the promotions of Brady Burleigh and Whitney Frary to assistant athletic director positions within the department.
Burleigh, who recently completed his fifth year as the Cardinals' Director of Athletic Facilities, has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Facilities and Field House Operations. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the department's athletic facilities while taking on additional responsibilities related to facility management and capital projects.
Frary, who just completed her fourth season as head coach of the Plattsburgh State women's soccer program, has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Engagement while continuing to serve as the Cardinals' head women's soccer coach. In her expanded role, she will oversee and enhance leadership development, community engagement and student-athlete programming initiatives for Plattsburgh State's more than 400 student-athletes.
Burleigh and Frary round out the Cardinals' current administrative staff, which includes Mike Howard, Director of Athletics and Recreation; Cheryl Cole, Associate Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator for Compliance and Scheduling; Brian Savard, Assistant Athletic Director for Sponsorship, Budgets and Communications; and Jason Pachter, Director of Sports Medicine.
"Brady and Whitney have done exemplary work for the department and our student-athletes over the past few years," Howard said. "As our athletic footprint continues to be enhanced over the next few years with the completion this year of our turf baseball field and new press boxes at softball and baseball, along with the recent good news regarding the $1 million funding we received to begin the design work for a renovated outdoor track and turf complex, we needed an assistant athletic director who could work hand in hand with me in managing projects, and Brady will play a large role in all of those conversations.
"In her role, Whitney will continue to lead a team of others in the department in creating leadership and service opportunities for our 400-plus student-athletes. We are incredibly proud of our Cardinal Summit and Leadership programming we have in place now, and she has played a pivotal role in the development of those programs."
