Brian Savard enters his third year as an Assistant Athletic Director and his tenth year overall in Plattsburgh in 2025-26.

In his role as the Assistant Athletic Director, he will be responsible for overseeing business operations, marketing, and sponsorship in addition to retaining administrative oversight of the Athletic Communications Office. Previously, Savard was the head of the Athletic Communications Office at Plattsburgh State for seven years both as assistant director of athletics for communications and as the director of athletic communications.

During his time at Plattsburgh State, Savard has helped oversee the overhaul of the department's web streaming; had three student-athletes earn Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" recognition; aided in the redesign of gocardinalsports.com; taken over as the emcee of the Hall of Fame and end-of-the-year athletic ceremonies; helped rebrand the department's visual identity with a new set of athletics marks; and promoted seven conference championship teams in addition to the Cardinals' 2019 NCAA Division III national title in women's ice hockey. He also represented the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) on the New York Regional Advisory Committee in the sport of women's volleyball from 2018-22.

Savard came to Plattsburgh State via SUNY New Paltz, where he served as the athletic communications director for six years. Prior to New Paltz, he worked as a sports information assistant at the University of Redlands for two years, earning his Master of Arts degree in higher education.

Savard graduated from Susquehanna University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications.

He currently resides in Plattsburgh, N.Y., with his wife, Katie, and their daughter, Lillianna.
