Plattsburgh State Women’s Basketball Unveils 2026-27 Schedule

2026-27 Plattsburgh State Women's Basketball Schedule

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's basketball team will open its 2026-27 season on Friday, Nov. 13, beginning a 25-game schedule, as announced Tuesday by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation. Under sixth-year head coach Ben Sarraf, the Cardinals will look to earn a third consecutive State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament berth and make their first SUNYAC Championship game appearance since 2014.

Plattsburgh State finished the 2025-26 season with a 16-11 overall record and a 10-8 mark in SUNYAC play, placing fourth in the conference standings. The Cardinals earned the No. 4 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament and defeated fifth-seeded Oswego State, 48-38, in the first round before falling to top-seeded New Paltz in the semifinals.

The 2026-27 campaign tips off at home as Plattsburgh hosts the Cardinal Classic on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14. The tournament field includes Potsdam, Saint Joseph (Conn.), and VTSU-Castleton. The Cardinals open the season against VTSU-Castleton on Friday before taking on Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Saturday.

Plattsburgh remains at home on Tuesday, Nov. 17, to face St. Lawrence before embarking on its first road trip of the season. The Cardinals travel to Western New England for the Hampton Inn Holiday Classic on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20-21, opening play against Hamilton on Friday. On Saturday, Plattsburgh will face either Salve Regina or host Western New England. The team then concludes the month with a road contest at Middlebury on Sunday, Nov. 29.

SUNYAC play begins at home as the Cardinals host Canton on Friday, Dec. 4, before welcoming Potsdam on Saturday, Dec. 5. After a road game at Clarkson on Monday, Dec. 14, the Cardinals travel to Florida to compete in the Orlando Classic on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 18-19.

Following the holiday break, Plattsburgh resumes conference play in January, hosting Morrisville on Friday, Jan. 8. The Cardinals then begin a five-game road trip beginning with a matchup against conference newcomer Cobleskill on Tuesday, Jan. 12. Plattsburgh continues its road swing with games at SUNYAC newcomer Delhi on Friday, Jan. 15, and at Oneonta on Saturday, Jan. 16. The following week, the Cardinals travel to Buffalo State on Friday, Jan. 22, and Fredonia on Saturday, Jan. 23.

The Cardinals return home on Friday, Jan. 29, to begin a four-game homestand, starting with SUNYAC newcomer Alfred State. Plattsburgh will then host Cortland on Saturday, Jan. 30, followed by matchups against Oneonta on Friday, Feb. 5, and Delhi on Saturday, Feb. 6. The Cardinals head back on the road for games at Potsdam on Friday, Feb. 12, and Canton on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Plattsburgh opens the final week of the regular season by hosting Cobleskill on Wednesday, Feb. 17, in its home finale before closing out the regular season on the road at Oswego State on Saturday, Feb. 20.

The top eight teams in the final SUNYAC standings will qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament. Quarterfinal games are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 23, with the semifinals set for Friday, Feb. 26, and the championship game slated for Saturday, Feb. 27.
