PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — The Plattsburgh College Foundation and SUNY Plattsburgh's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation are set to mark a major milestone with the launch of the 10th anniversary of Game On For Giving, the university's annual fundraising competition benefiting Cardinal Athletics and Recreational Sports.

Running February 6-14, this year's campaign — Game On For Giving: 10 Years Strong — brings an Olympic-inspired theme to the competition, inviting alumni, families, fans, faculty, staff and friends to "go for the gold" in support of Cardinal student-athletes.

Once again, Karen McGrath, vice president for enrollment and student success, and her family are playing a leading role in Game On For Giving by generously providing an Olympic-sized $20,000 McGrath Family Challenge gift to fuel this year's competition. Their continued commitment reflects the family's long-standing support of SUNY Plattsburgh student-athletes and the positive impact athletics and recreation have on student success and overall well-being.

Over the past decade, Game On for Giving has united the Cardinal community around friendly competition, collective pride and shared impact. In honor of the campaign's 10th anniversary, Game On 2026 will spotlight a decade of generosity while introducing renewed energy through team milestones, celebratory recognitions and donor-inspired pop-up challenges.

During the campaign, Division III varsity teams and recreational sports clubs will compete for donor participation and cash prizes, with challenges designed to reward broad engagement, alumni support and overall team momentum.

"This 10th anniversary is a celebration of the alumni, families and fans who continue to invest in our student-athletes and help create opportunities for success on and off the field."

Gifts may also be split among multiple designations.

All gifts made during Game On For Giving directly support the student-athlete experience by enhancing facilities, equipment, training resources and overall program support.
