CLINTON, N.Y. – Sophomore
Taygin Jump (Coupeville, Wash. / Coupeville), junior
Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y. / Saranac), and first-year
Isabella Scott (Valatie, N.Y. / Ichabod Crane) all recorded second-place finishes on Friday as women's track and field competed in the Hamilton Outdoor Invitational.
Jump placed second in the javelin throw with a throw of 31.60 meters, setting a new personal best. LeDuc was second in the long jump with a jump of 5.02 meters, and Scott was second in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 1:08.77. LeDuc had another top-three finish in the shot put with a throw of 9.35 meters, finishing in third.
The 4x100-meter relay time of
Lexi McDonald (Altona, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack),
Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y. / Niskayuna),
Anni Schneider (Latham, N.Y. / Shaker), and Scott finished second with a mark of 53.38.
The Cardinals had four runners in the 100-meter dash led by junior
Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon) as she placed fifth, posting a mark of 13.25 seconds. First-years Wise and
Deja Davis (Bronx, N.Y. / Paul Robeson) had back-to-back finishes as both recorded times of 13.79 seconds, finishing 12th and 13th, respectively.
Yarkosky also placed fifth in the 200-meter dash, setting a new personal best with a time of 26.68 seconds, while Wise also set a new personal best with a time of 28.43 seconds in the 200-meter dash as well.
First-year
Emma Mahoney (Spencerport, N.Y. / Spencerport) was close to her personal best in the 400-meter dash as she finished in 1:03.77 for sixth place.
The distance group was led by
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) and
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) as Colvin recorded a new personal best, finishing with a time of 4:55.13 for a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run and Estus finished ninth with a mark of 5:12.38 in the same event.
Kailyn Ginter (Northville, N.Y. / Northville) and
Julia Robinson (Chester Springs, Pa. / Downingtown East) both set new personal bests in the 1,500-meter run with times of 6:05.83 and 6:15.60.
Senior
Alaina Conners had a solid showing in the hammer throw with a throw of 28.64 meters for seventh place.
The Cardinals will next compete on Friday, Apr. 11, at RPI Friday Night Under the Lights.
