ALBANY, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team traveled to the University of Albany on Friday afternoon to compete in the Bobbi Palma Spring Classic, as five women competed for Plattsburgh State.
Junior
Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) took third place in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 59.51 seconds, sandwiching herself between two NCAA Division I runners ahead of her and another behind her. First-years
Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) and
Emma Mahoney (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) each competed in the race as well, finishing back-to-back at sixth and seventh place, respectively. Wise posted a time of 1:03.88 and Mahoney had a mark of 1:04.42.
First-year
Isabella Scott (Valatie, N.Y./Ichabod Crane) set a new personal best in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:07.56 as she inches closer to All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) championship qualification. The new personal best just missed the qualifying mark of 1:07.00 as she placed third behind two Division I runners.
Junior
Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y./Saranac) also competed for Plattsburgh, as she was fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.24 meters and set a new personal record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.35 seconds for 11
th place.
The Cardinals next compete at the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday, April 19, beginning at 11 a.m.
