SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore goalie Cole Orehosky (Hauppauge, N.Y. / Hauppauge) of Plattsburgh State has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week for the period ending Apr. 13, as announced by the conference office on Monday. This is Orehosky's first time earning the weekly honor, and he is the second Cardinal to receive the weekly honor this year after junior Jack Mulcahy (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Arlington) was named the defensive athlete of the week on Feb. 25.

Orehosky had a strong week in the net for the Cardinals in a 1-1 week for Plattsburgh State. Orehosky's best performance came against Canton in a dominant 19-6 win, where he recorded 12 saves and allowed only one goal, boasting a 92.3% save percentage in over 39 minutes of action to earn the win for Plattsburgh. He followed that up with another double-figure save performance in a close 10-9 loss to New Paltz, where he recorded 11 saves in 60 minutes of action. Orehosky finished the week with a 67.6% save percentage and 6.64 goals against average while collecting 23 total saves and three ground balls.

Plattsburgh State is currently 5-6 (1-3 SUNYAC) and next hosts Oswego State on Saturday, Apr. 19, at 1 p.m.
