SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior pitcher Carly Gemmett (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie Central) of Plattsburgh State has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending Mar. 16, as announced by the conference office on Monday. This is Gemmett's first time earning the weekly honor and the team's first Pitcher of the Week selection since 2018 while they received an Athlete of the Week selection last year in Gwen Noll.

Gemmett had a fantastic start to the 2025 season, tossing a complete game two-hitter, and striking out 13 batters as the Cardinals defeated Keene State 3-2. The senior right-hander went all seven innings and allowed just two hits and two runs in the team's first game of the season. After allowing two runs in the second inning, she walked just three batters, struck out eight, and allowed one hit the rest of the way as the team came back for the 3-2 win.

Plattsburgh State is currently 1-0 and is in action today at THE Spring Games when they take on Simpson College at 2 p.m.
