PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Courtesy of SUNY Plattsburgh, tickets to the Women's Ice Hockey NCAA Tournament First Round game between Plattsburgh State and Elmira will be free of charge, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation announced on Tuesday.
Doors to the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena open at 1:30 p.m. for Saturday's game, while the game starts at 3 p.m. The entire arena is general admission seating.
Plattsburgh State, currently the No. 6 team in the latest USCHO.com Top-15 Poll, captured their first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title and 13
th overall conference championship defeating then No. 5 ranked Oswego State 2-0 in Oswego, N.Y.
Elmira, who is receiving votes in the latest USCHO.com Top-15 Poll, won the NEHC title, defeating Norwich 1-0 in the championship game. Elmira was last year's runner up, advancing from the quarterfinals to the championship game where they fell to UW-River Falls.
