MEET RESULTS
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track & field 4x400-meter relay team led the charge for the Cardinals on Day 2 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, capturing the lone gold medal of the day for the team. Junior
Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon), who anchored the relay win, also placed third in the 400-meter dash.
The team finished in fifth place, totaling 47 points, while Cortland won the meet with 243.5 points.
Yarkosky earns All-SUNYAC Third Team Honors by virtue of her finish in the 400-meter run, while the 4x400-meter relay team earns first team honors in that event.
Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y./Saranac) earned First Team plaudits in the pentathlon after her gold medal last night, while
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y./South Glens Falls) earned a Third Team selection in the 5,000-meter run.
Sophomore
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) was awarded the prestigious SUNYAC Elite 20 award, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. Estus is an English major and carries a 4.0 GPA.

Isabella Scott (Valatie, N.Y./Ichabod Crane), first-year
Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna), and Yarkosky posted a time of 4:05.99 in the final event of the day, an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifying time. The Cards were in third place entering the final 400 meters, and Yarkosky made up two spots with the fastest split of the day at 58.39 seconds.
Yarkosky also placed third in the 400-meter dash, posting an AARTFC qualifying mark of 59.13 seconds, earning six points with the finish.
Senior
Sarah Smith (Lake Pleasant, N.Y./Wells) scored for the Cardinals with a sixth-place finish in the one-mile run, with a time of 5:28.52. Also scoring for Plattsburgh was Estus in the 800-meter run, as she placed fifth with a time of 2:27.47, a new career best time.
Coming off her gold in the pentathlon, LeDuc placed sixth in the long jump, as she posted a mark of 5.18 meters.
The Cardinals are next in action at the AARTFC Championships, which will occur on March 7 and March 8 at Ithaca College.
