Meet Results
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team wrapped up their competition at the DIII Elite Meet at Nazareth College on Saturday. The team had seven individuals compete as the team preps for their conference championship meet in a couple of weeks.
Junior
Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) led a group of four Cardinals in the 400-meter dash, placing 10
th with a time of 1:01.83. First-year students
Isabella Scott (Valatie, N.Y./Ichabod Crane),
Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna), and
Emma Mahoney (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) also competed in the event, finishing 26
th, 28
th, and 29
th, respectively. Scott posted a time of 1:03.91, while Wise clocked in and 1:04.42, and Mahoney finished with a time of 1:04.83.
Sophomore
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) raced in the 800-meter run and posted a new personal best mark of 2:36.95 to finish 22
nd.
Senior
Sarah Smith (Lake Pleasant, N.Y./Wells) and Estus raced in the mile run, with the two posting top 16 marks. Smith was 14
th with a time of 5:30.42 and Estus was 16
th with her mark of 5:32.38.
First-year student
Harmony Sanders competed in the shotput on Saturday, placing 37
th with a throw of 9.36 meters.
The Cardinals will next compete on Friday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. in the SLU Open.
