MEET RESULTS
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – After over a month off with the holiday break, the Plattsburgh State women's track and field team returned to action on Saturday at the Middlebury Winter Invitational hosted by Middlebury College.
Plattsburgh had some solid showings in a competitive field on Saturday, as the teams competed against schools across all divisions of the NCAA.
Junior
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y./South Glens Falls) posted the highest Plattsburgh finish of the day in the 3,000-meter run with her third-place time of 11:07.38, a new career-best.
Junior
Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) posted two strong finishes in her first outing of 2025, earning a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash and a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash, with career-best marks in both events. In the 400, Yarkosky posted a time of 1:01.63, while recording a time of 28.14 seconds in the 200. First-year
Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) also raced in the 200-meter dash and finished ninth with a time of 28.71 seconds.
The 800-meter run saw a career-best mark from sophomore
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) as she finished seventh with a time of 2:38.31. Right behind Estus was senior
Sarah Smith (Lake Pleasant, N.Y./Wells) who was eighth with her mark of 2:43.32.
The 4x200-meter relay team of sophomore
Deja Davis (Bronx, N.Y./Paul Robeson) and first-years
Shyloh Carroll (Chazy, N.Y./Chazy),
Emma Mahoney (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport), and
Anni Schneider (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) placed fourth with their time of 1:59.61.
The weight throw saw sophomore
Taygin Jump (Coupeville, Wash./Coupeville) and first-year
Harmony Sanders (Geneseo, N.Y./Geneseo) finish back-to-back at sixth and seventh, respectively. Jump earned sixth with her throw of 12.50 meters while Sanders was close behind at 12.42 meters.
Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y./Saranac) earned two 10th-place finishes on the day, first in the shot put with her throw of 9.93 meters and then with her jump in the long jump of 4.73 meters.
Plattsburgh State returns to action next weekend on Saturday, Jan. 25 at St. Lawrence for an 11 a.m. start.
