SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's cross country team competed in the RPI Harvest Classic on Saturday evening, placing fifth.
Sarah Smith (Lake Pleasant, N.Y. / Wells) was the first runner to finish for Plattsburgh placing 23
rd overall with a time of 20:23.9 for a new personal record (PR).
The Cardinals put together a fifth-place finish with 147 points behind UAlbany, Williams, Vermont, and RPI.
The Cardinals next head to the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 19. They will get a preview of the NCAA Division III Mideast Region Championship site as Connecticut College is set to host on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) put together another solid race, emerging as one of the Cardinal's top three runners in her first season, coming in 28
th with a mark of 20:54.0 which was a new PR.
Ella Stuttard (Oriskany Falls, N.Y. / Waterville) was the next to finish, with a PR of 22:16.1 for 31
st place as she continues to have an impressive first year with the Cardinals.
Kailyn Ginter (Northville, N.Y. / Northville) and
Jillian Head (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) finished right behind Stuttard coming in 32
nd and 33
rd, respectively, with times of 25:16.0 and 25:45.2 both good enough for PRs.
Julia Robinson (Chester Springs, Pa. / Downingtown East) also ran for the Cardinals and was just outside the top five runners for the Cardinals finishing behind Head in 34
th with a mark of 27:20.7.
