Colvin Earns Third Team All-SUNYAC and Estus Earns SUNYAC Elite 20 Award; Women’s Cross Country Finishes Fifth at SUNYAC Championships

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Senior Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) earns Third Team All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the Plattsburgh State women's cross country team finished in fifth at the 2025 SUNYAC Championship on Saturday at their home course of Rugar Woods. The Cardinals finished the race with a score of 116 points.

Junior Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa was awarded the prestigious SUNYAC Elite 20 award, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. Estus is a creative writing major and currently holds a 4.0 GPA.

Colvin was the top runner for Plattsburgh, finishing in 14th with a mark of 23:01.6. Not far behind was Estus, coming in at 23:34.8 (17th), which was her best time in the six-kilometer race.

Sophomores Ellie LeRoy (Malone, N.Y. / Franklin Academy) and Ella Stuttard (Oriskany Falls, N.Y. / Waterville) nearly finished back-to-back as LeRoy came across the line at 24:45.5 (27th) and Stuttard at 24:52.0 (29th). Junior Lillian Moran (Albany, N.Y. / Albany) rounded out the scoring group with a new personal best time of 24:54.7 (32nd).

The next group of finishers included sophomore Lexie Rostak (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh),  senior Ginny Lucchetti (Marcellus, N.Y. / Marcellus), sophomore Isabelle Cunningham (Bethlehem, N.Y. / Bethlehem), and graduate student Nora Graves (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh). Rostak bested her previous time in the six-kilometer race with a mark of 25:36.0 (40th), Lucchetti timed in at 26:29.3 (57th), Cunningham finished at 27:07.6 (65th), and Graves wrapped up the Cardinal finishers with a time of 27:43.8 (69th)

Cortland won the SUNYAC team championship with a score of 49 and also had the individual champion, Melissa Innocent, who finished first at 21:40.8.

The Cardinals are back in action in two weeks when the team travels to St. Lawrence for the NCAA Division III Mideast Region Championship on Saturday, Nov. 15.
