2025 Schedule
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State baseball program has unveiled its 2025 schedule as announced Wednesday by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation.
Entering their fourth season under head coach
Sam Quinn-Loeb, the Cardinals will look to make the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoffs for the third time in their last four seasons after they made the postseason last year. The team's 24 wins last season are the most overall victories by Plattsburgh State since 2010 and their 10 wins in SUNYAC play matched the program record set in 2010. The team will open up their season with doubleheaders at Penn State Berks (Mar. 2) and SUNY Cobleskill (Mar. 9) before heading on their spring trip.
The team's spring break trip will be at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational this year. The team's tentative (subject to change) schedule begins with a matchup against UW-Superior on Monday, Mar. 15. The team then takes on Farmingdale in doubleheader action on Mar. 16 and DePauw in a doubleheader as well on Mar. 17. The Florida trip concludes with a doubleheader against Bowdoin on Mar. 18 and a single game against Knox on Mar. 19.
The Cardinals return to New York on Friday, Mar. 21 and open up SUNYAC play at Oneonta for a single game. The team will wrap up their series on Saturday, Mar. 22 in Oneonta, New York with a doubleheader beginning at noon. The team will then take on 2024 NCAA Regional finalist Middlebury on the road on Tuesday, Mar. 25 for a strong non-conference test. The Cardinals continue SUNYAC play on the road in their next games, traveling to SUNY Canton for a weekend series on Mar. 28 and Mar. 29 (doubleheader) to end their March schedule.
Plattsburgh State's SUNYAC bye weekend is the following weekend, so the team will head to VTSU-Castleton for a doubleheader on Sunday, Apr. 6. The Cards then finally play at home on Tuesday, Apr. 8, taking on Clarkson at 3:30 p.m. and also on Wednesday, Apr. 9 against VTSU-Castleton at 3 p.m. New Paltz comes to town on the weekend, Apr. 11 and Apr. 12 (DH), as Plattsburgh hosts their first conference series at home against the defending SUNYAC champs. St. Lawrence visits the Cards on Wednesday, Apr. 16 before Plattsburgh then heads on the road for a SUNYAC series at Oswego on Apr. 18 and Apr. 19 (DH). Plattsburgh State then returns home to host Middlebury on Tuesday, Apr. 22. The Cardinals plays a road game on Apr. 23, traveling to St. Lawrence for a midweek contest.
The weekend of Apr. 25 and Apr. 26 (DH) will see the Cardinals host Cortland for three-game series against the Red Dragons in SUNYAC play. Plattsburgh then travels to Clarkson and Apr. 29 and hosts Norwich on Wednesday, Apr. 30 for their final non-conference games, and concludes their regular season with a weekend series hosting Fredonia on May 2 and May 3 (DH).
The top four teams in the final regular-season SUNYAC standings will qualify for the double-elimination SUNYAC Tournament, which will run from Thursday-Saturday, May 8-10, at the site of the top-seed.
