2024 CSC Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State junior forward
Claire Bottjer (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) and senior midfielder
Jessica Mare (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) were each named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Soccer team following the conclusion of the 2024 regular season. The two are the first pair to make the All-District team since Jessica Allen and Carrie Rose did in 1997.
To be eligible for this ballot, student-athletes must excel on the field and in the classroom, carrying at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA while being at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Bottjer, a Communication Sciences and Disorders major with a 3.86 cumulative GPA, appeared in all 17 games for Plattsburgh this season, starting in nine games and playing 791 total minutes. She tied for the team lead with three goals and six points, with six shots on goal this season. The junior registered the game-winning goals against VTSU-Castleton on Sept. 4 and Canton on Oct. 26.
Mare, a Business Administration, Global Supply Chain Management, and International Business major with a 3.88 cumulative GPA, played in all 17 games in 2024, earning 14 starts. Totaling 950 minutes of play, she tied for the team lead with three goals and six points while also taking 14 shots and putting eight on goal. Mare had the game-winning goals against Fredonia on Sept. 21 and Morrisville on Sept. 28, with her goal against Fredonia being the first of her career.
The Cardinals missed out on postseason action in 2024, posting a 5-11-1 overall record, while going 4-4-1 in conference action.
