PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team has been recognized by United Soccer Coaches as a recipient of the 2025-26 College Team Academic Award, honoring collegiate programs that have demonstrated excellence in the classroom.
The Cardinals earned the distinction after compiling a 3.54 cumulative team grade point average during the 2025-26 academic year, surpassing the 3.0 GPA requirement to receive the national honor.
United Soccer Coaches announced Friday that 452 women's soccer programs earned the Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year. Overall, 779 collegiate soccer teams 327 men's and 452 women's posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to receive the recognition.
The award reflects the continued commitment of the Plattsburgh State women's soccer program to academic excellence while balancing the demands of collegiate athletics. The Cardinals' 3.54 team GPA highlights the dedication and hard work displayed by the team's student-athletes throughout the academic year.
Plattsburgh State was also one of 176 institutions nationwide to have both its men's and women's soccer programs recognized with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, underscoring the department's commitment to success in the classroom across its soccer programs.
