2024 Softball Schedule

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.
 - The Plattsburgh State softball program has released its 2024 schedule, as announced Friday by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation.

Entering their fourth season under head coach Sam Van Dorn, the Cardinals will look to make the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoffs for their third straight season. The team will open up their year at THE Spring Games, traveling down to Florida between the dates of Mar. 17-24 to begin the 2024 campaign.

After returning from Florida, the team will head to Saratoga Springs to open up their northeast schedule facing Skidmore College on Mar. 30, as they will play doubleheaders one each game day for the remainder of the season. The Cards will then return home for their home opener against SUNY Canton on Apr. 2 for a doubleheader at Cardinal Park.

Plattsburgh State opens up SUNYAC play on Apr. 6 against SUNY Potsdam and will look to begin the year with two wins in league play against the Bears. The team will then begin a streak of eight-straight road games, beginning with St. Lawrence on Apr. 9. The Cardinals then travel to the Buffalo Area, taking on Buffalo State (Apr. 12) and Fredonia (Apr. 13) to continue league play. The road streak ends on Apr. 17 for Plattsburgh, when they travel to Vermont to take on VTSU-Castleton.

After the long road streak, the Cards next begin a long streak of home games, with 12 straight games at Cardinal Park. That starts with a weekend SUNYAC series against two quality opponents, as they first host SUNY Oneonta on Apr. 19, before New Paltz visits on Apr. 20. The Cardinals next take on Division II Saint Michael's on Apr. 24, leading up to another weekend of quality opponents, beginning with defending SUNYAC Champion Geneseo (Apr. 26) and concluding with Brockport (Apr. 27). Plattsburgh State plays their final regular season home games on Apr. 30, as they host Clarkson in non-league action.
The season wraps up in May for Plattsburgh as they travel to Oswego State on May 3 and then Cortland on May 4, ending their season with a challenging road trip in SUNYAC play.

The top six teams in the final regular-season conference standings will qualify for the double-elimination SUNYAC Tournament, which will run from Thursday to Sunday, May 9-12, at the site of the top seed.
