Geneseo, N.Y. - After a superb week in Geneseo,
Alexa Murray (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) was named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team for the conference softball tournament that concluded on Saturday. Geneseo was the SUNYAC champion, going 3-0 in the tournament.
Murray had herself a fantastic three games, going 4-11 with four RBI, a double, a run scored, and a stolen base. The junior outfielder had the key hit in the team's lone tournament win versus Fredonia, singling in two runs to take the lead over the Blue Devils in a five-run sixth inning. The junior drove in a run in all three games played, while also playing great defense in right field. With her performance, she raised her season average to .284, good for fourth on the team.

The Cardinals lost their opening game to eventual champion Geneseo 4-3 before defeating Fredonia 6-4 in the first elimination game in the tournament. The team then lost to New Paltz 7-1, who was eliminated by Cortland the next day.
