PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation, in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Relations, has announced the Plattsburgh State Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2021. Comprising the Hall of Fame's 36th induction class are Stephanie (Zweig) Conroy '08 (softball), Travis Gorham '09 (men's basketball), Denis Kennelty '72 (baseball/football), Jaime Retersdorf '01 (women's soccer), Jaclyn (Leitze) Weber '08 (softball) and Anthony Williams '08 (men's basketball).
The annual induction ceremony and dinner, which was originally slated to occur earlier this year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be hosted at Memorial Hall on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus. The Cardinal Athletic Hall of Fame Induction and Dinner will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 22. Seats for this year's event are $25 per person, ($12 for children under the age of 12), and those interested in attending the ceremonies should register by April 14 at
alumni.plattsburgh.edu/HOF.
Stephanie (Zweig) Conroy was a key member of some of the greatest Cardinal softball teams in the program's history. She helped lead Plattsburgh State to its first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title in 2006 and its first NCAA Regional championship in 2007, which culminated in the Cardinals placing fourth at the 2007 College World Series. Conroy earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Third-Team All-America honors in 2006, becoming the first student-athlete in program history to earn NFCA All-America laurels. She was a two-time NFCA All-Region selection, earning First-Team honors in 2006 and Third-Team mention in 2007, and earned SUNYAC Pitcher of the Year recognition in 2006 and 2007. Also a three-time Jewish Sports Review First-Team All-American and a three-time All-SUNYAC honoree, Conroy holds the career program record in saves (12) and fashioned a 1.60 career ERA to go along with 616 strikeouts.
Travis Gorham helped lead the Plattsburgh State men's basketball team to three SUNYAC titles during his career, as the Cardinals won the conference championship in 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08. He earned D3hoops.com First-Team All-Region honors in 2007-08 and D3hoops.com Second-Team All-Region accolades in 2006-07 in addition to being named First-Team All-SUNYAC in 2007-08 and Second-Team All-SUNYAC in 2006-07. Gorham earned a spot on the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, and in 2006-07, he was named the SUNYAC Tournament MVP. In the program's career record book, he ranks third in blocks (106) and sixth in rebounds (871).

A dominant two-sport student-athlete,
Denis Kennelty starred as a catcher and an infielder for the Cardinals' baseball team and was also a member of the offensive and defensive lines on the Plattsburgh State football team. Kennelty was a three-time First-Team All-SUNYAC honoree in baseball, earning the honor in 1967, 1969 and 1971. He holds the program's career record in batting average (.379) and also ranks second in program history in single-season batting average (.451 in 1971). Kennelty also hit eight triples during his career, which is tied for the fifth-most in the program's record book.
Jaime Retersdorf starred as a forward on the Plattsburgh State women's soccer team for four years, helping the Cardinals win their first SUNYAC title in program history during her senior season in 1998. She earned both National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Third-Team All-Region and All-NYSWCAA honors in 1997 in addition to being a three-time All-SUNYAC honoree, earning First-Team laurels in 1997 and 1998 and Honorable Mention recognition in 1996. For her career, Retersdorf achieved 65 points on 29 goals and seven assists, and she netted 14 game-winning goals.
Jaclyn (Leitze) Weber was dominant in the circle during her time in a Cardinal uniform, helping lead Plattsburgh State in one of its most dominant periods in softball program history. She helped guide the Cardinals to their first SUNYAC title in 2006 and their first NCAA Regional championship in 2007, which culminated in Plattsburgh State placing fourth at the 2007 College World Series. Weber earned three NFCA All-Region honors during her career, receiving First-Team recognition in 2006 and Second-Team accolades in 2005 and 2007. In addition, she was a three-time All-SUNYAC honoree and earned a spot on the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team in 2007. In the program's career record book, she ranks second in innings pitched (612 1/3), strikeouts (831), games started (88), shutouts (21), wins (71) and ERA (1.54).

One of the most prolific scorers in men's basketball program history,
Anthony Williams helped lead Plattsburgh State to SUNYAC championships in 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08 during his tenure in a Cardinal uniform. He earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First-Team All-America honors in 2007-08 and NABC Third-Team All-America recognition in 2006-07 in addition to receiving D3hoops.com Second-Team All-America kudos in 2007-08. Williams was the D3hoops.com East Region Player of the Year in 2007-08 and earned D3hoops.com First-Team All-Region honors in both 2006-07 and 2007-08. He also was a two-time NABC All-Region honoree in 2006-07 and 2007-08. A two-time SUNYAC Player of the Year in 2006-07 and 2007-08, he earned a pair of First-Team All-SUNYAC laurels and was selected to the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team on three occasions, including SUNYAC Tournament MVP honors in 2007-08. Williams holds the career program record in free throws made (409) and ranks second all-time in scoring (1,734 points).
