PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State women's soccer commences its 2021 season with a non-conference match against Castleton University at the Field House Complex on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Plattsburgh State, which had its 2020 season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, last played to a 10-8-1 (4-4-1 State University of New York [SUNYAC]) record in 2019. Head Coach Tania Armellino, who has a 68-42-7 (30-19-5 SUNYAC) record at Plattsburgh State, has guided the Cardinals to six consecutive appearances in the SUNYAC Tournament semifinals. The Cardinals look to continue their success as they return to the field in 2021.
"I think after a year off and losing a season in 2020 that our expectation is for rejuvenated effort, and working really hard to find a rhythm and to continue the success we had before," Armellino said. "Work ethic is extremely important to me and the hope of getting the team back into the swing of the things after a year off is my No. 1 priority."
