PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Senior
Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y./Saranac) finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.07, leading the Plattsburgh State women's track and field team to a 23rd-place finish out of 34 teams with six points at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships hosted by St. John Fisher College from Wednesday-Thursday.
Barber won her heat in the event by more than two seconds, while just two hurdlers from the Rochester Institute of Technology posted a better time in the final heat. She recorded the fastest time among the six State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) athletes in the event.
Junior
Aislyn McDonough (Rouses Point, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) also competed at the meet, finishing 12th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.39.
Barber now awaits potential selection into the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 400-meter hurdles. The full field will be announced tomorrow evening.
