Baseball Announces 2020 Schedule

2020 Plattsburgh State Baseball Schedule

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. 
– The Plattsburgh State baseball program has released its 2020 schedule, as announced Tuesday by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation.

The Cardinals open up the season with four consecutive non-conference road doubleheaders, starting at New York University on Saturday, Feb. 29. Plattsburgh State then plays at Maritime College (Sunday, March 1), at the College of New Jersey (Saturday, March 7) and at Farmingdale State College (Sunday, March 8).

Plattsburgh State then heads to Florida for the Russmatt Central Florida Invitational in Winter Haven, Fla. The Cardinals will play four games from March 15-18, against opponents yet to be announced. The Cardinals wrap up their Florida trip with a three-game State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) series against Fredonia from Friday-Saturday, March 20-21.

Upon returning from Florida, Plattsburgh State continues SUNYAC play with a three-game series at SUNY New Paltz (Friday-Saturday, March 27-28). The Cardinals then step away from SUNYAC competition for five straight non-conference games. Plattsburgh State plays at Union College on Thursday, April 2, and at SUNY Poly in a three-game series on Saturday-Sunday, April 4-5. The Cardinals then welcome St. Lawrence University to Chip Cummings Field for their home opener on Tuesday, April 7.

The Cardinals will then face conference foe SUNY Oneonta in a three-game home series (Friday-Saturday, April 10-11), before wrapping up their season-long five-game homestand with a non-conference game against Skidmore College on Tuesday, April 14.     

Plattsburgh State then goes on a five-game road trip that commences with a three-game SUNYAC series at SUNY Cortland (Friday-Saturday, April 17-18) and concludes with a non-conference doubleheader at Norwich University (Monday, April 20).

Returning home, Plattsburgh State faces Middlebury College in a non-conference game on Wednesday, April 22, and The College at Brockport for a three-game SUNYAC series from Friday-Saturday, April 24-25, at Chip Cummings Field.

The Cardinals conclude non-conference play with single games at Clarkson University (Tuesday, April 28) and SUNY Canton (Thursday, April 30). Plattsburgh State finishes regular-season play with a three-game SUNYAC series against Oswego State from Friday-Saturday, May 1-2, at Chip Cummings Field.  

The top four teams in the final regular-season conference standings will qualify for the double-elimination SUNYAC Tournament, which is set to run from Thursday-Saturday, May 7-9, at the site of the top seed.

Plattsburgh State is led by 19th-year head coach Kris Doorey.
