MEET RESULTS
NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Plattsburgh State men's cross country team edged out both Stevens Institute and Ohio Wesleyan to finish 20th of 27 teams at the prestigious Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday.
Plattsburgh State scored 607 points while Stevens Institute had 608 and Ohio Wesleyan recorded 609.
Four Cardinals ran a course personal best on the eight-kilometer terrain.
Sophomore
Luke Groves (Slingerlands, N.Y. / Guilderland High), sophomore
Andrew Horan (Albany, N.Y. / Guilderland High) and senior
Adam Whitehead (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) packed together to all hit course PR's and finish in a seven second time frame.
Groves led Plattsburgh State placing 132nd of 402 runners in a time of 26:48.0.
Horan was three seconds behind Groves finishing 140th in a time of 26:51.6 and Whitehead was 146th with a time of 26:55.1.
Senior
William Lindau (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) finished 159th with a new course PR of 27:03.4.
Graduate
Scott Downing (Wappingers Falls, N.Y. / Roy C. Ketcham) placed 177th in a time of 27:10.9 to round out the Cardinals scorers.
Plattsburgh State will take a week off in preparation for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship on October 27th hosted by Fredonia.
