PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – It was a Sunday Showcase for the Plattsburgh State tennis team who upended the Lyndon State Hornets 9-0 at the Memorial Hall Tennis Courts.
With the exception of one singles match and one doubles match, the Cardinals saw a clean sweep across the board in the rout of the Hornets.
Kaitlyn Healy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) grabbed her first singles win of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Nichole Jones.
In addition,
Sarah Drexinger (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and
Shari Forman (Manhasset, N.Y./Wellington C. Mepham) each got their first doubles wins on the year.
The Cardinals are now 2-0 to open the 2016 season.
Plattsburgh State will regroup and prep for SUNYAC Pool Play slated to start on Friday. Pool Play will be hosted at SUNY Oneonta, where the Cardinals will play both the Red Dragons from Oneonta and Cortland.
