PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State tennis team began its season on Saturday with a 7-2 decision over the Farmingdale State Rams at the Memorial Hall Tennis Courts.
The Cardinals took all but one singles match to begin the day. Then nabbed two out of three doubles contests to finish out the meet.
Jacqueline Ciriello (Mahopac, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) and
Sierra Barrett (Beekmantown, N.Y./Beekmantown) each won their singles matches 6-2, 6-2.
The duo then paired up to capture a doubles win 9-7.
Kelci Henn (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) saw two wins Saturday as well, first in No. 2 singles over Tatiania Rosalina 7-5, 3-6, 10-4, and then matched with teammate
Kaitlyn Healy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) for an 8-5 doubles victory.
Plattsburgh State starts the season 1-0 and will welcome the Lyndon State Hornets on Sunday at 1 p.m.
