NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State tennis team picked up an 8-1 win over the Mount St. Mary Knights on Sunday, improving to 6-3 on the season.
The Cardinals captured all three doubles matches, and all but one singles match against the Knights.
Jacqueline Ciriello (Mahopac, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) and
Sierra Barrett (Beekmantown, N.Y./Beekmantown) each won their singles matches and then claimed victory in No. 2 doubles 8-0.
In addition, senior
Sarah Drexinger (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and
Shari Forman (Manhasset, N.Y./Wellington C. Mepham) each grabbed two wins. Both in singles play and then a No. 3 doubles win 8-0.
Plattsburgh State has swept the weekend following the 8-1 victory over the Knights, previously defeating the Bard College Raptors on Saturday 8-1 as well.
The Cardinals last home match of the season will be against Johnson State on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Memorial Hall Tennis Courts.
