PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State tennis team returned to the win column on Sunday afternoon by defeating the Castleton Spartans 9-0 at the Memorial Hall Tennis Courts.
Cardinal ace
Kaitlyn Healy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) performed well in No. 1 singles, defeating Ciara Bannister 6-0, 6-2. Then the duo of Healy and
Kelci Henn (Mastic Beach,N.Y./William Floyd) went on to win No. 1 doubles 8-2.
Plattsburgh State freshman
Sierra Barrett (Beekmantown, N.Y./Beekmantown) has performed well this season, and got the bump up to No. 2 doubles, pairing with Jaqueline Ciriello (Mahopac, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) to grab an 8-2 win as well.
The Cardinals lift themselves off the .500 mark and sit a 4-3 this season with the win over the Spartans.
The team will have the week to prepare for a two game road trip starting on Saturday with a visit to Bard College.
