ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State tennis team was able to grind out a win in day two of SUNYAC Pool Play against the Cortland Red Dragons on Saturday.
The Cardinals upended the Red Dragons by a narrow margin of 5-4.
Plattsburgh took 2-of-3 doubles matches from the Red Dragons, while both teams split the singles contests 3-3.
Jacqueline Ciriello (Mahopac, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) and
Sierra Barrett (Beekmantown, N.Y./Beekmantown) each won their singles matches and as a team won their doubles match.
In addition, the duo of
Kaitlyn Healy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) and
Kelci Henn (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) claimed an 8-2 win.
Shari Forman (Manhasset, N.Y./Wellington C. Mepham) also picked up a singles win 6-4, 6-2.
The Cardinals are now 3-1 this season, and will travel to play St. Michael's College on Tuesday.
