BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's tennis team fell to the New Paltz Hawks in day two of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament 5-1, on Sunday.
The Cardinals lone win came in the form of
Kaitlyn Healy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) and
Kelci Henn (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) who paired for a No. 1 doubles victory against the Hawks, 8-4.
The Cardinals knew they were in for a tough matchup; the Hawks entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed in the SUNYAC East, and previously defeated the Cardinals 9-0 in the regular season on September 16th.
The loss eliminates Plattsburgh State from the tournament and ultimately ends their season. It was still a great year for the Cardinals, who finish with an overall record of 10-4.
