PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The top ranked Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team hosted fellow North Country combatant, Potsdam on Tuesday night, defeating the Bears 4-1.
For the second straight game, the Cardinals would jump out to a 1-0 lead.
Jordan Lipson would snipe one short side over the shoulder of Potsdam goalie Abby Tardelli, ringing both corner bars before going in.
The Bears would even it up in the second when Brenna Wilson found the back of the net for her third of the season. Anna-Rose Bertin wrapped the puck around the net sliding a pass through of scrum of players, finding Wilson for the easy tap in.
After heading into the third trailing last game, the Cardinals found themselves tied 1-1 with 20 minutes remaining.

th game, captain,
Bridget Balisy would tally the eventually game-winner, breaking the 1-1 tie 6:28 into the third. The senior toe dragged a Bears defenseman before extending her stick and tucking the puck in on her backhand past Tardelli far post.
Melissa Sheeran would collect her ninth goal of the year, finishing off a rebound from a
Giovanna Senese shot that Tardelli initially blocked to make it 3-1.
Later, Senese stuck the dagger with an easy tap in on the power play that resulted from tic-tac-toe passing by
Kayla Meneghin and Balisy.
Camille Leonard earned her ninth win of season, making 11 saves on 12 shots. Tardelli corralled 55 saves for the Bears, earning second star of the game as Potsdam was outshot 59-12.
Plattsburgh State goes to a perfect 10-0-0 (5-0-0 ECACW) while Potsdam falls to 3-5-2 (1-5-1 ECACW).
The Cardinals will stay at the friendly confines of the Stafford Ice Arena this weekend as they host Buffalo State in an ECACW double header.
Last season, the Cardinals swept the Bengals in Buffalo by scores of 7-0 and 2-1. Buffalo State is currently unbeaten in ECACW play and sits atop of the standings with 12 points.
