Box Score FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team hit the road for their western New York trip, downing State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe Fredonia 5-2.
The Cardinals took no time in taking the lead over the Blue Devils Friday afternoon, sinking four goals in the opening 26 minutes.
Senior,
Cassidy Clavet opened the scoring just 2:04 into the game when her shot from the edge of the box beat Blue Devil's goalkeeper Kendall Owczarzak.

Anissa Hartmann would add to her lead as she scored back-to-back goals in the 8
th and 14
th minute, to increase the Plattsburgh State advantage to 3-0.
Devin McMahon tallied her second goal of the season in the 26
th minute to make it 4-0 Cardinals. The Holbrook, N.Y., native received a cross through the box from
Christen Averill and finished into the open net.
Fredonia would stop the Cardinals run, scoring with seconds before halftime making it 4-1 Plattsburgh State. Jordan Waltz collected a rebound and tap it into the empty net.
The Cardinals would retake a four goal advantage moments into the second half on
Madeline Saccocio's fourth of the season.
Fredonia received the last goal of the day to wrap up the 5-2 final on a Plattsburgh State own goal.
Nichole Gibson finished the day with three saves for the Cardinals. Owczarzak started the game for the Blue Devils before Michelle Hale played the final 39 minutes making five saves in that time.
The Cardinals finished the day with a 20-13 shot advantage as they move to 9-4-1 (4-2-0 SUNYAC). Fredonia falls to 3-10-1 (1-4-1 SUNYAC).
Plattsburgh State will finish their western New York road trip when they visit undefeated in the SUNYAC Buffalo State at 1 p.m.
