Nick Giampaolo opened the third with his second of the afternoon to bring the Lakers within one at the 9:43 mark before Duggan tallied his hat trick at 8:30 to bring the score to 9-7. Oswego State trimmed the Plattsburgh State lead back down to one when Matt Palmer scored 38 second later but the Cardinals retaliated with five unanswered goals to make it 14-8 in favor of the home team at the end of three quarters.

The Lakers got two back to start the fourth before Ashlaw and Charlie Dullea found the back of the net to round out the scoring for the Cardinals. Oswego State's Chris Porten added a man-up goal with 3:32 left in the game to reach the 16-11 final.
