Matt Pope led the Saints with three goals, while Garfield added two on the night. Caldwell Rohrbach also tallied two goals for Saint Lawrence.
With the two teams tied at 5-5 at the half, the game turned into a defensive battle in the second half. Rohrbach and Travers exchanged goals in the third quarter. Justin Ingram gave the Saints a 7-6 lead early in the final quarter. Travers answered with 11:16 to play, tying the game at 7-7 and sending the game to overtime.

Goalie Danny Caufield recorded 13 saves in his second loss of the year. Jack Nuland earned the win for the Saints, making eight stops.
“Our goalie [Caufield] played outstanding tonight and we got a good defensive effort,” said Plattsburgh State Head Coach P.J. Kavanagh. “We just were unable to get it done, but hopefully we can get another streak going before heading into the playoffs.”
Plattsburgh returns to action on Friday, April 8 when they host Morrisville State at 7 p.m. The Cardinals will wear special pink and blue jerseys for the game to raise awareness for breast and prostate cancer. In addition to a 50/50 raffle, the Cardinals will be accepting donations at Friday’s game, with all proceeds from the event benefiting the CVPH Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
