The teams played a low-scoring first half with Plattsburgh taking a 5-2 lead into the intermission. After Kilderry scored to open the second half, Oswego netted four of the next five goals to pull within 7-6. However, the Cardinals responded by going on a four-goal run to end the third quarter and took a commanding 11-6 lead. Morgan keyed the rally with a man-up goal and a pair of man-down tallies.
It was all Cardinals in the final stanza, outscoring the Lakers 9 to 4. The defense played a vital part in the up-tempo offense as Dan DeFrancesco scored his first two goals of his career and Mike Glynn notched an assist.
Plattsburgh also had the edge in shots (62-51), ground balls (40-35) and face-off wins (17-15). Ryan Price had a game-high 11 ground balls to finish the season with 193 and his career with 402, extending his school benchmarks.
