PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - Tommy Kilderry led all scorers with a career-high four goals, but it wasn't enough for the Plattsburgh State men's lacrosse team to overcome a balanced Oneonta State offense in a 12-9 loss at the Field House Complex on Wednesday. The Red Dragons have won four in a row, improve to 7-4 overall on the season (3-0 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference) and now lead the all-time series 10-1. The Cardinals dip to 9-3 and 1-1 in the SUNYAC.

Scott Weiner, Ryan Waibel, Brian Kollar, Steve Loesch and Blair Hanson each had two goals as Oneonta never trailed in the game. The Red Dragons led 5-3 after the first quarter and scored the first two goals in the second.

Pete Morgan had two goals and Luke Weidlein contributed two assists for the Cardinals, who outshot Oneonta 43 to 38. Ryan Price scooped up a game-high 10 ground balls and went 15-of-22 in face-offs.

After Plattsburgh junior defenseman Will Folgherait tallied his first career goal, Oneonta went on a four-goal streak to build their largest lead at 11-4 in the fourth quarter.

The Cardinals, however, didn't give up and scored four unanswered goals of their own to pull within 11-8. The teams traded goals in the final 30 seconds to close the scoring. Kilderry had three of his four goals in the final stanza to help in the comeback bid.

Oneonta's Chris Miles was outstanding in goal by making 21 saves, including several shots from close range. Logan Carpenter also played well for the Cardinals, stopping 13 shots.

The Red Dragons also won in ground balls, 30-25.
